Act of Clod
This is the reason why religion and state should be kept separate.
It is God that has caused the financial crisis and not the stupidity of man. Mr Bidgood says
I don't think so. What about all the Christians who share prices are dropping? All the christians who's retirement funds are shot. In essence all the christians who are praying for this not to happen.
Ah, but god works in mysterious ways.
What gets me is this guy is censured by Tony Abott.

"I believe when Christians pray, God does things. I believe what is happening today is as much to do with God in economics bringing judgement."So it's all the christians fault. They're praying for the crisis to happen. They want people to lose their homes, for unemployment to rise. THEY ARE PRAYING FOR THIS TO HAPPEN!

I think the position being taken is that those pious christians praying for the greed and gluttony to stop are the ones god listens to, because those with shares etc are sinners.
But this is unusual in the fact that whereas religion usually casts man as imperfect and god as good, it obviously wasn't man's imperfection that led to the crash as it was an 'act of god'.
But then again, I'm a rational and relatively consistent person, so I can't understand why people buy the bullshit anyway... plus the religious nutters will say anything for a bit of [hot] air time.
