Federal Opposition better politicians
The government appears to be admitting that the Opposition are better politicans then them and can run better campaigns. Form http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200705/s1926007.htm
Federal Minister for Workplace Relations Joe Hockey says the Government is not ashamed of the name WorkChoices but he says the Opposition's "scare campaign" has worked."The unions and the Labor Party have put in a million-dollar scare campaign against WorkChoices," he said.
"It has resonated because it's been the most sophisticated and political campaign in the history of this country."
Given the government's standing in the polls, do they really want to admit that the Opposition runs better campaigns. How does this improve the government's standing? "The Opposition has half baked polices, though they are better then us at explaining them to you, the people."
While we're on the subject, The government's stance on universities. Been meaning to post this all week, but due to problems with wisdom tooth (and it's painful extraction) haven't yet.
The Opposition wants to removed full fee paying positions for Australians. The government is aganist this because it's "discrimination to deny Australians who do meet the academic merits to gain entry into University, to be denied a place when foreginers can have full fee paying positions"
Let me get this straight. It is discrimination for Australians who are not bright enough to enter our universities not to be able to buy their way in and deny possible positions to Australians who are bright enough?
Why isn't the Opposition jumping on Howard's comments?
